Research

DCI works with the University of Cincinnati Physicians to do research with dialysis patients. Studies are very important to understanding diseases and developing new ways to prevent or treat health problems. Research studies depend on volunteers who agree to be part of controlled tests that measure the effects of medications, medical treatments or devices.

The Paul Teschan Research Fund of Dialysis Clinic, Inc., offers grant support for research about kidney disease. Investigations may be basic science, clinical, epidemiologic, or other methods. These funds, named to honor Paul Teschan, M.D., a distinguished investigator and advisor to DCI, are intended to promote investigations of clinical significance that might not be able to achieve funding from NIH or other national sources because of their clinical nature, their early stage of work, or other reasons. The PTRF is a source of funding for worthy projects where other sources are unavailable.
